Mica Plate for Charcoal Incense
A mica plate with a silver wire rim for warming incense above charcoal. Use it on its own or with our copper stand to distance the plate from an incense charcoal.
Adjust the heat for gentle warming
The plate separates incense from direct contact with charcoal. With one of our copper stands, you can adjust its distance from the charcoal to change the heat reaching the material. Begin farther away and move closer gradually, taking care to avoid charring. Distance can also be created with a mound of ash over a fully lit coal, such as in a traditional Japanese Kōdō (incense ceremony).
Use over a stable, heat-resistant bowl of ash. The plate and stand become hot during use; let them cool before handling. Never leave charcoal or heated incense unattended.
Pair with the copper incense stand. For a complete setup, add white ash, an incense bowl, and Japanese incense charcoal.
