Hawaiian Sandalwood Incense Wood — Santalum ellipticum
Sweet, mild, and delicately woody, this fragrant sandalwood heartwood is collected on Kauaʻi. Enjoy the natural aroma from the pieces or gently warm them as incense.
Heartwood from naturally fallen trees
The wood is collected in Kauaʻi forests from naturally dead and fallen trees, then prepared by hand down to pure heartwood.
How to gently heat sandalwood
Place a small piece on a mica plate above an incense charcoal. Start with a generous distance between the charcoal and mica plate, then adjust gradually to warm the wood without charring it. Use with ventilation, on a heat-resistant surface, and never leave hot charcoal or heated incense unattended. The pieces can also be enjoyed by placing the edge directly on a charcoal, or used over a flame.
