On the island of Kauai this aromatic treasure is ethically harvested from deep in the forest from naturally dead and fallen trees. The pure heartwood of Hawaiian sandalwood is richly scented, reminiscent of Indian or Mysore sandalwood, but with sweeter and more mild notes.
You can enjoy its gorgeous scent without ever even burning it, especially if you keep it in a jar. But if you do burn it, it is best to heat it gently, and have it on fire as little as possible. A charcoal, or electric incense heater is a great method for releasing the delicate scent of this rare incense.
